The
adjoining on-site workshop is a beehive of activity,
where they will make anything -and we do mean
ANYTHING - to measure. Whether it is a simple
coffee table, an 8ft high fully working guillotine
for London's West End, custom-made office furniture,
television and hi-fi cabinets, dining tables,
made-to-measure freestanding wardrobes… whatever
you require, Rushworth's will make it.
(Waiting list is currently 10-12 weeks).
Visitors who are interested are proudly given
a guided tour of the workshop, where they can
watch the cabinetmakers and polishers beavering
away on customer orders.
Rushworth's Furniture is a real Shrewsbury
born-and-bred family business, with the family
involved in furniture making and antique restoring
since the 1950s.
The term ‘family business’ is not used lightly
- the whole family is involved in one way or
another. Paul’s cousin (Geoff’s nephew) Philip
is Sales Manager; Geoff’s wife Molly, Paul’s
wife Jane, and Paul’s sister Julie are all frequently
in the showrooms, arranging the displays or
helping customers to choose what is best for
their homes.
As well as the extensive range of exclusive
Rushworth's own-brand furniture, they
also stock several other companies' makes of
furniture, very carefully selected for their
quality, with furniture in solid oak, burr walnut
and mahogany, selling everything from 3-piece
suites to mirrors, pictures and so on.
